Josh Biere is one of the regions leading freelance tubists and brass pedagogues. He holds the principal tuba chair with both the Madison Symphony and the Kenosha Symphony, and has performed with the Grant Park Music Festival and the St. Paul chamber Orchestra. Mr. Biere is also an established chamber musician, playing in numerous ensembles and in dozens of venues all throughout Chicagoland. He has also soloed with many groups and has given numerous recitals throughout the region. He is a highly sought after clinician and teacher, maintaining a studio of well over 35 tuba and euphonium students from some of the most respected band and orchestra programs in the country.
Mr. Biere has a BME from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a MM in tuba performance from Northwestern University. His principal teachers include Emily Binder, Ed Risinger, and Rex Martin. Mr. Biere currently resides in Montgomery, IL with his wif and two children.
